crisis communications for the globalised world
With 2009 revealing the true depth of the global financial crisis, communications professionals needed to put the situation into perspective in order to provide appropriate responses to consumers, businesses and government. Outsights Partner Richard O'Brien was invited to the Pan European Conference by the magazine Communication Director to provide a futurist's perspective on the financial crisis in its 2009 Crisis Communications conference for more than 300 professionals.
In his presentation, "Today‘s crisis, tomorrow‘s recovery? Lessons from the Past and the Future", Richard focussed on how best to contextualise the current crisis by using lessons from the past (e.g. in Japan and Switzerland), and how these can be translated into effective communications for the future.
